Laborador retrievers....Large black dogs are usually the last dogs adopted in Shelters. Gonzales Animals Shelter has a number of medium-to-large black dogs available. Please consider one of these very special dogs for your next best friend.
News
Four dogs from the Gonzales Animal Shelter are going to prison! They will live with the inmates at a woman's correctional facility in Lockhart. The inmates, guided by professional dog trainers, will be training our dogs for six weeks. At the end of the six week session, they will be ready for adoption as well trained dogs.
Who We Are
The Friends of Gonzales Animal Shelter support the Shelter by promoting adoptions of pets from the Shelter and providing spay/neuter services for pets adopted from the Shelter.
Adopting a friend
Call 857-6576 (AC 830) to arrange a time to see the puppies and dogs available for adoption. Many of the animals have already been spayed or neutered if they are old enough. The dogs have been wormed and are started on heartworm preventative.
For the cats and kittens, call (830) 857-1616. The cats that are old enough have been spayed or neutered and have a rabies shot.
Come Visit Us!
Gonzales Animal Shelter is located on County Road 488, off Moulton Road (CR 532). Shelter hours are 9-4 Monday through Friday, 10-12 on Saturday. Call 857-6576 to make sure an attendant is at the Shelter. The hours for the new Pet Adoption Center are:
3:30 to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
